The World Setting

The year is 2005.

Ten years ago individual cases of mutation began to occur. At first these discrepancies in human development were simply attributed to environmental poisoning, atmospheric degradation, or some new horrifying evolution of the AIDS virus.  The mutations first showed up in Australia..then the US...then Europe.. until finally cases of mutation began showing up all over the world.

It was finally realized that human mutations were not a problem that was simply going to disappear. The world community in an effort to control the rampant panic that was seizing most populations, has asked that mutant register with their local government and submit for study and research voluntarily. A world wide prejudice and fear exists against mutants.  Rumors began to circulate among the general populace of the world that mutants were being exterminated, or trained by the government as weapons, or heading major crimes ring. Other rumors suggested some were working towards a world peace, or committing their abilities towards humanitarian service.

Most mutations were generally mild...one or perhaps two minor abilities surfacing. A few mutants...even rarer were dubbed Aces. That is, mutants who demonstrated one Major ability that could be generally used for theirs or others benefit.  The others were called Spades...these poor mutants were afflicted and cursed with abilities that did little more than cause harm and suffering to either themselves or others.

With very few places where mutants are generally excepted Club Nova is a welcome relief from a world of prejudice and narrow minded normals who'd like nothing better than to see most mutants disappear.

Club Nova

The club is a luxuriant refuge for mutants and their invited guests. An elegant establishment it lies at the top of the Lebeau Towers in the center of New Orleans. Stars, Starlets,  politicians and movers and shakers from all walks of life are found here on occasion. The majority of it's frequenters are mutants though, normals are only let in by invitation only.

The Club has 3 levels to it all designed for the various needs of it's guests.

Level One - This lies at the very top of the tower. It's the Lounge and Restaurant. The tables here are elegant wood carved masterpieces with small candles and intimate settings throughout the restaurant. The Decor here is quiet, elegant and very expensive. The lounge itself hosts a long wood Mahogany bar, and a small stage made of what looks like glass. Either Jazz or the Blues are normally played here. THERE IS NO KARAOKE. The watiresses are dressed in elegant blue gowns with a silver sash, the waiters are in tuxedos.

A small hallway seperates the Lounge from the main restaurant, steps in both areas lead down to the patio. The patio overlooks the entire city of New Orleans including the ocean. The patio encircles the enitre First level of the tower and has several small raised gardens on it's promenade for the guests to enjoy. One is Japanese, another a Rose Garden, and another is a Zen Budhist sand garden.

Level Two - This level is accessible by passkey only and that must be obtained in the lounge. This level contains a Billiards room, a Movie screening room, a small Casino, a Library and an indoor Pool and Hot tub area. There are also about 20 rooms for rent for geusts who'd like to stay the night. This level like the others has mutant gaurds on duty at the elevator and stair accesses. The staff are dressed in tuxedo's or evening gowns and the appointments are eqaully elegant through this floor.

Level Three - This level is generally considered off limits to normal geusts. Isobo Divan and only a few others have passkeys that allow access to this area. This is where several private residences are located, a medical bay, several labs, a security command center for the tower and a small helo-port.
